Wow! Last night I went to see someone that I admire in life…James Moody! I first met Moody years ago when I worked at Sam Ash in the mid 90’s. He has always been such a gentleman and his wife Linda is a wonderful person to know. He is playing at the Iridium in NYC this Labor Day weekend. Linda walked by me and after I introduced myself to her again she remembered me and sat right down with me to catch up on life!! It was such a pleasure for me to sit with her and watch Moody play his horn.
At this time, he is 84 and sounding better then ever. He did a rendition of My One And Only Love that was just so INSPIRING.
His quote to me was “Marsha always practice your horn”…..I replied back to him that I would go home right away and start practicing but my neighbors would be upset….. So I told him that I would have to wait until the morning again to start blowing my horn in my place.
